High School Academics
Academics at Lake Travis STEM Academy’s high school are individualized through our small class sizes and flexible schedule. Since we are a four-day academy, students have the opportunity to take on internships with our partners and dual-credit courses at Austin Community College during each school week.
As a non-ranking high school, we avoid incentivizing competition among students, instead placing importance on collaboration, individual improvement and content mastery. Project-based learning and field experiences push students to think critically and apply concepts to solve real-world problems.

Internships and Field Experiences
We are a four-day academy with classes scheduled from Monday through Thursday. This schedule allows us to match students with internships and field experiences on Fridays each week.
Non-Ranking
Our high school is non-ranking, reducing competitiveness among students and contributing to a collaborative classroom climate. Students are more than just a number, with college applications including portfolios of student work.
Dual-Credit Pathways
Through flexible student schedules, we are able to create individualized graduation pathways that include dual-credit courses at Austin Community College, where students earn credits that apply to both high school and college.
High School Community and Culture
Small class sizes facilitate strong, supportive relationships among students. Students feel included and that their opinions count.
Older students are paired with younger students as “big buddies” to foster community and provide leadership opportunities.
Our chapter of the National Honor Society takes the lead in planning many school events throughout the year, including spirit week, prom, fundraising and activities for big and little buddies.
